・Spread of Zika Virus in Singapore: (High school students from Singapore)
・Hot weather=Mosquitos (temperature is almost stable throughout the year: unchanged number of zika virus) Analyzing the Spread of Virus by Phylogenetic Tree
・How do they determine the route?
→ All organisms have their own routes (ATGC)
・Each people has own virus types
・Flu has 8 genes

・Similar sequence: Phylogenetic analysis (系統発生分析)
Activity: Memorize 8 letters in few seconds and write them down so you can pass the letters to the next person without making mistakes.
Purpose of the activity: to prove the mutation is random in each person and change over time.
Result: Students missed several letters and the original 8 letters had totally different combinations at the end.

・Routed tree: you know the 'route'
・Unrooted tree: you don't know the 'route'

・Topology of rooted tree
Equivalent→ Root [A,B,C,D] & [B,A,C,D] [D,C,B,A]
Not equivalent→ [A,C,B,D]
・You can construct different unrooted tree by selecting a topology that best represents the differences among the sequences
・In 2008, Pandemic: swine virus (pig)
・Flu=8 gene segments
